Designer note: why Simple exists

Simple is the least-decorated two-column in the library — no accent rules, no inverted blocks, just two columns of clean type. The lack of identity is the identity. I use it as a fallback when a candidate has tried every other template and nothing felt right.

Bullets that read well in Simple

These are the kind of lines this template's spacing and typography were built for. The note under each explains why the rhythm fits.

Experience

Operations Manager, [Mid-size Co.]. Restructured the supplier vetting process across 3 manufacturing sites, cutting onboarding time from 6 weeks to 11 days.

Simple's lack of design lets a measured-outcome bullet stand entirely on its content.

How Simple compares to similar templates

Cross-links to the closest siblings in our library, with the actual differences spelled out - not just visually similar templates.

Professional resume template thumbnail

vs Professional

Professional has the section headers and gutter treatment that signal 'standard professional'. Simple removes even those. Pick Simple if Professional still feels too 'designed' for you.

Clean resume template thumbnail

vs Clean

Clean has the thin section rules that signal restraint. Simple drops them. Pick Simple when you want literally the least template possible.

Questions about the Simple template

Is Simple too plain?

For most audiences, no — recruiters read content first. If your content is interesting, Simple is fine. If your content needs help, pick a template with more identity (Modern, Bold).
